This painting is an exploration of transformation, grief, and the tender, complex process of healing after living through endometriosis surgery. At its center, two figures emerge — not just two versions of one self, but representations of all of us who have lived in the shadows of pain, reaching for the parts of ourselves we thought we had lost. There is no clear boundary between these figures, only a fluid space where they meet — embodying the messy, nonlinear journey of healing that so many of us know intimately.

There is grief woven into this piece of healing, a collective mourning for the versions of ourselves that no longer exist, and an acknowledgment that healing does not mean returning to who we were, but becoming someone new.
