Minimalist Commission Paired with a Home Renovation
About a month ago, I was contacted by a client to fulfill a special commission for their newly renovated bathroom. Dannon and her Husband purchased their new home last December, and have dedicated so much time into designing, renovating and decorating the home of their dreams. When she contacted me regarding an abstract piece for their in-progress bathroom, I couldn't be more excited. We worked together to create a piece to compliment her modern, yet minimal style.
The piece began with a bright blue and teal underpainting, following some added pinks and oranges. Many of the final layers of my abstracts consist of bold strokes-- using black, white and iridescent gold. Each layer is manipulated to allow certain pops of color to shine through, adding some liveliness to the white, minimal feel. When I delivered the piece to Dannon in person, I was lucky enough to be able to see the piece in it's new space; and couldn't be more excited for the turn out! I'm always so grateful for the trust given by each client, allowing me to stay true to my process while still forming an outcome that they are happy with.
